First things first..
I did not know who Viveka Babajee was until i read about her death in the newspaper.
From what i learnt, it seems that she was a successful model, with her share of fame and money, and friends and heartbreaks.
She had been in and out of relationships, this may have been her third one, which, by all outward appearances was shaping up well.
But as they say about appearances and deceit, all wasnt well with Viveka and Gautam.
Ok, isnt that the way most relationships are ? With their share of ups and downs ?
Anyway, i do not intend to judge her. So, she wasnt happy with her life and decided to end it.
Sad, but then, that was her choice. For a grown up woman, she had made her decision, and the world, not being in her shoes, can have no idea of what she was going through.
So far, i understand.
But then, it gets pretty confusing.
The family, the media, and the police, get hold of her boyfriend and grind him with all sorts of fancy allegations. The latest news is that her family is going to file a case of Abetement to Suicide against Gautam.
Tch,tchh....grow up people ! Dying - that was her decision. Why punish her boyfriend for that ?
Is it his fault that she was unable to handle the situation, that she turned out to be too weak, perhaps timid and couldnt sort out her life ? Is it his fault that she denied taking responsibility for her life ? Was she a kid, who did not know what she was doing ? Is her weakness reason enough to punish him ?
Again, nothing against Viveka here, but if she was the one who could not handle the pressure, could not be strong enough to nurse a broken heart or shattered dreams, or whatever her personal demons be - why put the blame on her boyfriend ?
Just because they were seeing each other doesnt mean he was responsible for her actions. An adult, matured woman decides to end her life...atleast she should have had the decency of writing out a note saying it was her decision and her responsibility and not leave others in such humiliating and cornered situations.
That she planned to get married to him, and had a fight with him the night before reason enough to say he drove her to death ? When will the media stop its flights of fancy to earn a quick buck and see that someone's life is at stake here ? How about spending these precious screen minutes to hunt down and bring to court Anderson and get justice for the Bhopal Tragedy victims ? Aaah...not titillating enough, is it ?
